While caring for a loved one is one of the most noble gifts one can offer, it is important not to  sacrifice everything you are and desire.  Our ability to take care of ourselves in the process is important.

The practice of mindfulness can help us become aware of the habits and judgmental patterns that interfere with being able to accept both ourselves and our loved one with kindness and compassion, and offer care with an open and loving heart.
