About

I feel honored to share mindfulness and help enrich the journeys of those who are navigating challenging times.

That arises from my personal experience of caring for my husband, Ron, who had Alzheimer’s, and now during my own journey of aging as a widow.

My Mindfulness Journey

The practice of mindfulness has been a powerful support for me.  With that practice, I have been able to reduce stress, be more resilient, practice self-compassion, and trust the experiences life brings for me to learn and grow, as well as bring more peace and joy to the journey.

I was first introduced to mindfulness in 1996 when watching a PBS special on Healing and the Mind.  Following that, I attended programs with Jon Kabat-Zinn who developed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR), which Ron and I taught for a period of time prior to his illness.  In 2015, I went on to obtain a certification in Mindfulness Facilitation through the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA, to supplement my previous mindfulness experience as well as my Master’s in Counseling and Human Services.

My Journey as an Alzheimer’s Care Partner

In 2011, I retired from my position as a Patient Representative at a local hospital to be a full-time care partner for  Ron, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2008.

I found my mindfulness practice invaluable while adjusting to our new life and caring for him until he passed away in 2016.

I look forward to supporting you in bringing mindfulness to your journey.
